The curriculum at East Â鶹Éç Islamic College certainly starts with numeracy and literacy, it expands much further to include a rich and varied choice of subjects. We follow the new Victorian Curriculum standards and guidelines. The College provides an opportunity for Â鶹Éç to learn in a safe and secure Islamic environment. Our curriculum includes Qur’an classes, Arabic classes and Islamic Studies classes as well as a English as Another Language (EAL) program

The aim of the East Â鶹Éç Islamic College’s Early Years Program is to give every student encouraging, rewarding and enjoyable experience at school. Every child is special. Every child is unique in his or her own way. We instil a sense of responsibility towards learning into children. Teachers and parents together build a healthy environment for a child’s all round growth in the early years of learning. This cooperative learning through teachers’ guidance and parents’ affection helps children reach their highest potential.
At East Â鶹Éç Islamic College, we build a strong foundation for the Year Three to Six Â鶹Éç in the crucial Primary years of learning. Students learn to be responsible to manage and organise their learning to develop work habits. We encourage Â鶹Éç to become independent and actively take a part in the learning process. Students learn to become responsible and learn to appreciate different viewpoints.
Teachers in Secondary School work in collaboration around the goals of the Â鶹Éç. The curriculum is devised such that it meets the Â鶹Éç’ needs and builds up a comfortable environment for the Â鶹Éç as well as the teachers. Assessment projects and tasks are designed as per the curriculum framework and design for all the subjects. Teachers take down formative assessment to understand the learning needs of a student. End of semester examination is undertaken as a formal exam condition to prepare Â鶹Éç for senior years.
Senior School Â鶹Éç are engaged in a diverse and varied set of learning experiences to ensure they develop to their fullest potential as knowledgeable, skilled and productive individuals. The curriculum focuses on providing the Â鶹Éç with the information and experiences they need, to make informed choices about their future. Often this will involve exploring different subjects and ideas, with guidance from staff and our careers counsellor.
The Victorian Certificate of Education course is an apt course for breaking the university entrance for degree courses. The VCE is a two year certificate that recognises the successful completion of secondary education. VCE Â鶹Éç are required to select five other subjects apart from compulsory English. VET (Vocational Education and Training) course can be chosen as one of the VCE subjects.
The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) is a hands-on option for Â鶹Éç in Year 11 and 12. The VCAL gives you practical work-related experience, as well as literacy and numeracy skills and the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work. Like the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), VCAL is an accredited Secondary Certificate.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) enables Â鶹Éç to gain qualifications for all types of employment, and specific skills to help them in the workplace. East Â鶹Éç Islamic College has a Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) partnership program with the Northern Melbourne VET Cluster whereby all our VCAL and VCE Â鶹Éç complete certificate courses at a TAFE one day a week. Some of the VETiS courses undertaken by our Â鶹Éç include Business Management and Sports & Recreation held at EPIC. Students are also required to do practical work experience in their area of study.
At East Â鶹Éç Islamic College, Â鶹Éç study English as an additional language right from the Foundation level till Year 12. The language is taught on the lines of the Victorian Curriculum.
The Primary and Secondary EAL Programs are guided by efficient teachers in the amalgamation of Literacy, Language and Literature. To support development of the English language and to empower the learners, a phonographic tool called THRASS is used
